Who is She?
Hi, my name is Pesy Therese. I'm a Congolese born entrepreneur based in New York City. I moved to the U.S in 2005 with my mother and brother to be reunited with our dad in MD. It wasn't till 2015 that I relocated to New York City, after high school to pursue my dreams of being a high fashion model, a dream that I’m still pursuing.
Apart from being a fashion model, I'm co-owner of TheCradlenyc, a West African restaurant located in Rockaway Beach that specializes in Nigerian cuisine with a modern twist. I’m co-owner of Eso, a juice and smoothie bar, and TheCradleFarm where we grow and harvest produce used at all of our establishments.
Above all, motherhood is my favorite title.
My husband and I welcomed our daughter, Ilerioluwa, 6 months ago and it's been an amazing journey since.
The industry that has shaped me into who I am today. Navigating the challenges of being a model in this day and age has changed my view on what it is to be unapologetically me. As a black model we are faced with far more criticism than our peers and have to fight harder for limited space. Without this industry and everything that I've learned, the bad and the good. I’m grateful for all the bits.

Our story begins during New York Fashion Week, a busy hectic week that brought with it more than fashion. It brought love, rich Black Love for two individuals. What is Black Love you ask? Well, let's get into it with our story
It started with a simple “Hi”, laughter, and a little witty comeback because he thought he was funny. And From that moment on we never stopped talking, laughing and making jokes at/with each other. Our love starts from the roots, the roots of our culture. Our love starts from Africa, our homeland, our birthplace. I wake up every morning truly blessed to have such a God fearing, vision driven man in my life. A man that loves me unconditionally just as I am. A man that pushes me beyond the stars in the sky.

This little beauty is teaching me so much about the world, myself and the peace that comes with being patient in life. There is so much to my story that I have to share with you and the world, so let's get started.
Growing up in Congo, my grandmother had a garden where we grew organic vegetables forthe family. She instilled in me the value of wellness, nutrition and physical health.
Being in the U.S.A I became aware of the lack of education surrounding agriculture for our communities and understanding the challenges of a healthy diet, this has been the foundation for our initiative to help young children and families have access to wellness, nutrition and physical health.
Our program is a hands-on approach to agricultural education from earth to table. We are allowing a young generation of children to experience healthy eating from the root up by establishing a relationship between the process of growing and harvesting food, we are supporting the value of making conscious choices in eating healthy.
